AUSTIN, TX: (September 27, 2016): TRG Porsche closed out a dynamic racing season from the top step of the winners’ podium in Austin. The Pirelli GT3 Cup wrapped up its 2016 season at the Circuit of the Americas, where the drivers of this Porsche-only series were tested with waves of lightning and heavy rain drenching the 20-turn track.Steve Miller and Craig Lyons raced their Cayman GT4 Clubsports in the Silver and Silver Masters class, respectively. It’s a proud finish for TRG Porsche, as Lyons won Sunday’s race and placed 2nd on Saturday’s race – his best results of the year. Miller finished in 5th.

Both drivers have participated in previous Pirelli GT3 Cup races this season, but Lyons was determined to master the Cayman GT4 Clubsport during nearly every double-header weekend. At Saturday’s COTA race, his time in this series finally paid off as he earned his first podium of the year with a 2nd place finish. The following day, the lingering taste of his close victory was enough to propel him all the way to the top, and he took 1st place for the TRG Porsche team.

Throughout the year, TRG’s club racing schedule with the Pirelli GT3 Cup has taken the crew to some of the most important racetracks in the Western USA: Laguna Seca, Sonoma, Utah Motorsport Campus, The Thermal Club. This level of racing is a great way for drivers to get real racing experience while still maintaining a professional career outside of motorsports. TRG Porsche drivers Bob Bramlage, Patrice Gautier, Eric Hautemont, Craig Lyons, Steve Miller and Greg Milzcik were among the first drivers in the world to race with the purpose-built Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport.

For Lyons to finish out the 2016 season with a win in brutal weather conditions is a proud moment for both himself and for all of the team’s crew, who supported his No. 3 Stor-It Self Storage/Mobettah Collectible Cars Porsche car throughout the year. The TRG team was beyond excited to cheer for Lyons as he proved himself as a top Cayman GT4 Clubsport driver with two podium celebrations at the final competition of the season.

Drivers interested in racing with TRG Porsche for the 2017 season should contact the team today for early placement.
