PETALUMA, CA (July 27, 2016): The TRG-AMR crew are on their way to Lexington for the eighth race weekend of the Pirelli World Challenge, to be held from July 28-31. The No. 09 BRM Chronographes/Rebounderz Rohnert Park/Racing for Cancer/Pirata Della Strada/Simon Ward Aston Martin V8 Vantage will be driven by Jason Alexandridis for both Friday’s and Saturday’s GTS races.
Alexandridis, whose hometown of Novato is only a few minutes from the TRG headquarters, is looking forward to competing in this double-header weekend. In addition to racing the No. 09 Aston Martin with teammate Derek DeBoer in select PWC races, he’s also a successful businessman and franchisee for Rebounderz Rohnert Park, an indoor trampoline park just north of San Francisco. Alexandridis will also be the first to celebrate the end of his race with a few beers courtesy of new team partners, Lagunitas Brewing Company – perhaps with a “Li’l Sumpin’ Sumpin’ Ale” or two.
TRG has a successful history with multiple series and manufacturers at this track, which is situated just between Columbus and Cleveland. In addition to TRG’s Kris Wilson taking a win with the Aston Martin in the PWC GTS class here in 2015, the team has also scored multiple GT wins, poles and podiums. In 2002, team CEO Kevin Buckler drove to victory against the factory Porsche team in the then-famous #66 Porsche GT3-R.
“We are looking for a great run with Jason this weekend — probably the best of the season,” said Buckler. “He is a super fast, heads-up driver. This is the first track he’s been to previously, and it caters to his driving style. Our team has traditionally done well here with five major GT victories and I think this circuit suits the Aston Martins very well. The entire TRG team has been working diligently for this weekend, and we know this will be a great run for us. We are ready!”
Alexandridis will race on Friday, July 29 at 5:15pm, and Saturday at 10:45am Eastern Time.
