Summary:
TRG-AMR seeks an innovative, results-oriented, self-motivated and aggressive leader to fill the position of Vice President of Marketing and Sponsorship.  As a member of the executive business team, this person will play a key role in executing both the team’s marketing strategy and overall business development efforts for the organization.

Major Focus:
This position is focused on the generation of revenue in the areas of Corporate Partnerships, Sponsorships, and Hospitality.   

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and oversee the organization’s overall brand strategy including purpose, core attributes, voice, image, and target audience(s). Identity and effectively communicate this strategy to internal and external stakeholders
  • Improve brand awareness with a focus on building a lasting emotional connection with fans, sponsors, media, customers and racecar drivers
  • Oversee TRG’s brand marketing campaigns and budget with external parties and all internal media including print, event, digital, social, and e-mail to ensure consistency in message, voice, and brand imagery
  • Approve and monitor brand integrations and usage by sponsors, partners, drivers, and clients
  • Provide guidance to Business Development, Marketing, and Creative departments on brand positioning of TRG and audience metrics to develop compelling sales materials
  • Partner with other internal departments including Communications, Event Operations, Sales, Hospitality, and Racing Operations to promote consistency and sanctity of TRG brand attributes and positioning
  • Identify and pursue customers in key target segments e.g. Youth, Families, Motorsports Fans, International, Multicultural, C-Level Executives, Luxury Lifestyle ambassadors
  • Partner with Creative Services and other departments to provide direction on creative execution of national and local direct marketing campaigns
  • Develop a robust, data driven approach to evaluate effectiveness of marketing efforts by identifying and monitoring Key Performance Indicators over time
  • Research, prospect and establish new leads for corporate relationships
  • Coordinate and deliver sponsorship sales presentations
  • Meet and exceed sales goals and objectives from an agreed target plan
  • Maximize revenue on fully integrated sponsorships in all major categories
  • Work closely with the Marketing & Business Development departments to ensure contract fulfillment
  • Participate and assist with additional duties as assigned by the CEO

Minimum Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will be an aggressive, self-starting, and creative marketing and sales professional with significant relevant experience in the Sports Entertainment industry
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field of study
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated and focused on delivering results via execution and continuous improvement with a sense of urgency
  • A minimum of 8 years of direct experience in a combination of consumer marketing, brand management roles
  • Minimum 4 years of sales experience, knowledge of motorsports preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge/proven track record of practices and principles of sales and marketing of integrated packages multimedia assets
  • Proven success in a collaborative, team based work environment
  • Strong problem solving, decision making, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of all major media types, including television, print, web, mobile, social database and digital video
  • Experience with database marketing platforms, technology, and processes
  • Proven ability to effectively manage marketing budgets and evaluate financial return
  • Ability and willingness to travel nationwide throughout the year, including evening and weekends
  • Prior supervisory experience
